Did you know that August is “Membership Month” in Rotary?  While we may not be able to resume meeting in person for the time being, we should still use this time to tell our story and get others involved in our community.  The COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on our community, state, and nation and has adversely impacted the lives of many people.  We have a role to play in helping our community recover from the effects.

As Rotarians, we pride ourselves on being “People of Action.”  Across our district, Clubs are putting together backpacks for school children, sending water pumps across the ocean allowing villagers to have nearby, accessible clean water for their daily use, raising money for local food banks and sending money to other countries to feed residents with no food.

I know you believe in what we do – but have you shared that Rotary pride with anyone?  Can you think of even one friend or work associate who would be a great Rotarian?  On August 25 at 7:00 pm, our District Membership Chair, Jenny Stotts, is having a “Meet Rotary” event to give non-Rotarians an idea of what joy can be found in being a Rotarian.  I invite you to participate in this event as a reminder of what we do – but why not invite at least one non-Rotarian to attend?   I know we have Portsmouth citizens just looking for a way to get involved in our community.  Why not Rotary? You can  register for this event on the District website.

Let’s be 100% All-In!
